Tesla, Inc., Previous (2003-17) Tesla Motors, American Electric-Automobile Manufacturer. Established in 2003 by American Entrepreneurs Martin Eberhard and Marc Tarpenning and named after US inventors Serbia Nikola Tesla.
Tesla Motors is formed to develop an electric sports car. Eberhard is the Chief Executive Officer Tesla (CEO) and the Menorsir of the Head of Financial Officer (CFO). Funding for companies obtained from various sources, especially PayPal Cofounder Elon Musk, which contributed more than $ 30 million to new efforts and served as chairman of the company, starting in 2004.
In 2008 Tesla Motors released its first car, the roadster was fully electric. In the company's test, it reached 245 miles (394 km) with a single accusation, an unprecedented range for electric production cars. Additional tests show that the performance is proportional to many gasoline-powered sports cars: Roadster can accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour in less than 4 seconds and can reach a highest speed of 125 miles (200 km)) per hour. The body of a light car is made of carbon fiber. Roadster does not produce tailpipe emissions, because it does not use the internal combustion engine. Tesla Motors found that the car obtained an efficiency rating which was equivalent to the mileage of gasoline 135 miles per gallon (57 km per liter). Electric motor vehicles are powered by lithium-ion cells - often used in laptop computer batteries - which can be refilled from standard electrical outlets. Despite the federal tax credit of $ 7,500 to buy electric vehicles, the Roadster costs of $ 109,000 make it luxury items.
At the end of 2007 Eberhard resigned as CEO and President of Technology and joined the Company Advisory Board. It was announced in 2008 that he had left the company, even though he remained a shareholder. Tarpenning, who is also the Deputy President of the Electrical Engineering, oversees the development of electronic systems and software for Roadster, also left the company in 2008. Musk took over as CEO. In 2010 Tesla's initial public offering raised around $ 226 million.
In 2012 Tesla stopped the production of roadster to concentrate on new S model sedans, which were recognized by automotive criticism for its appearance and design. It comes with three different battery options, which provides a 235 or 300 mile range estimation (379 or 483 km). The highest performance battery option provides acceleration of 0 to 60 miles (96 km) per hour in a little more than 4 seconds and a top speed of 130 miles (209 km) per hour. Unlike the roadster, which carries a battery on the front of the car, the S model has a floor below, which provides additional storage space in front and better handling because of its low gravitation center. Tesla Autopilot, a form of driving a semi -UTOMUS, was made available in 2014 on the S model (and then on another model).
Starting in 2012, Tesla built a station called a supercharger in the United States and Europe designed to charge the battery quickly and at no additional cost for Tesla owners. The later version of the station is called Tesla station and also has a complete replacement capability of the battery model package.
Tesla released the X model, a "crossover" vehicle (ie, vehicle with sports-utility vehicle features but was built on a car chassis), in 2015. Model X has a maximum battery coverage of 295 miles (475 km) and seating up to seven. Because of the demand for cheaper vehicles, Model 3, a four-door sedan with a range of 220 miles (354 km) and the price of $ 35,000, started production in 2017.
The company also branches into solar energy products. The battery line to store electricity from solar energy to use at home and business was launched in 2015. Tesla bought Solar Panel Company Solarcity in 2016. In 2017 the company
